Armed Group Detonates Bomb at Secy's House
Nawalparasi/ March 9
The cadres of Janatantrik Tarai Madhes Mukti Party (Jwala Singh) has detonated bomb at the house of a VDC secretary on March 7 nights.
The bomb was detonated at the house of Grami VDC secretary and resident of Laharauli in Palhi VDC-5 Rajkumar Das Patel.
The explosion carried out at 11 pm incurred no human casualty but the walls have cracked.
Locals believe the attack was carried out for refusing to pay Rs 100,000 demanded by the group as part of their drive to extort money from every VDC of Tarai.
According to SP Gupta Bahadur Shrestha, when asked, Patel said he had got the demand about six months ago but not since then. The group had also detonated a bomb near the house of a teacher on March 4.
